In one example, an aqueous disinfectant composition can contain an aqueous vehicle containing water, 0.001-10.0 wt.% peroxygen, and alcohol, and further 0.001-50,000 wt.ppm transition metal can be present therein on the basis of the aqueous vehicle content. The composition need not necessarily contain aldehyde substantially.
