The present invention relates to a novel colorectal laxative composition of a solid formulation comprising at least one laxative and at least one soluble laxative, or at least one soluble non-fermentable binder, such as polyethylene glycol. The present invention also relates to a method of using the colon laxative composition. The compositions and methods according to the present invention are designed to improve tolerance and agreement to patients while at the same time qualitatively improving bowel lavage.
