The present invention relates to a composition for alleviating skin diseases and strengthening skin barrier comprising formononetin. The composition according to the present invention suppresses the apoptosis of skin cells caused by pollutants in the air and promotes the proliferation of dermal keratinocytes, thereby alleviating skin disease symptoms such as skin barrier damage, dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, and age spot caused or degenerated by fine dusts.
