The invention relates to a method for the protection of seed and germinatingplants from attackby phytopathogenic fungi, by treating the seed with a composition comprisingfluoxastrobin andmetalaxyl-M, wherein the mixing ratio fluoxastrobin:metalaxyl-M is 5:1 to1:100, and whereinthe composition protects the seed and germinating plants from: (i) seed- andsoil-borne rot andwilt diseases, and (ii) diseases of seedlings, caused by Pyricularia oryzae.
