Die Erfindung betrifft ein Drapierband (10) für ein Flächengebilde wie eine Gardine, einen Vorhang od. dgl., mit einem in wenigstens einer Ebene biegeelastischen Körper (11), welcher am oder im Flächengebilde anordnenbar ist. Hierbei umfasst der biegeelastische Körper (11) eine Schar von Kunststoffabschnitten (12). Die Erfindung schlägt nun vor, die Kunststoffabschnitte (12) auf einer durchgehenden Seele (20) anzuordnen, wobei die Seele (20) aus zwei konzentrisch angeordneten Teilen (21, 22) besteht, die zueinander in Achsrichtung (13) zumindest geringfügig verschieblich sind. Die Kunststoffabschnitte (12) sind dabei auf dem äußeren Teil (22) der Seele (20) festlegbar und gehen mit diesem vorzugsweise eine mechanische Verbindung ein. Weiterhin umfasst die Erfindung ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines solchen Drapierbandes (10).
