PURPOSE: A method of increasing protopanaxadiol (PD) based saponin content is provided to emit a specific LED wavelength to the ginseng for increasing the concentration of saponin. CONSTITUTION: Freshly washed ginseng is irradiated with 440-470 nm of LED to increase the concentration of protopanaxadiol (PD) based saponin. The irradiation is conducted for 7 days.본 발명은 세척한 수삼에 440~470 nm의 LED를 조사하여 인삼의 프로토파낙사디올(PD)계 사포닌 함량을 증가시키는 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따르면 증숙과 같은 복잡하고 오랜 시간이 소요되는 방법이 아닌 간단한 LED의 조사만으로도 프로토파낙사디올계 사포닌이 크게 증가되어 있어, 우수한 생리활성, 예컨대, 고지혈 개선, 진통, 기억력 개선, 항당뇨, 비만 억제 및 항종양 등에 매우 유용하게 이용될 수 있다.
