The present invention relates to a skin care device which determines whether or not rubbing of the skin care device is performed based on the amount of voltage change caused by skin contact, and blocks the current output through an electrode when rubbing does not occur for the predetermined time, and to a control method thereof. The skin care device determines a state of the skin care device based on sensed voltage corresponding to the current change of a transformer module as AC current is output to the skin through a contact electrode, and blocks the current output of the electrode module when the skin care device is fixed.피부 접촉에 따른 전압 변화량을 근거로 피부 미용 기기의 러빙(Rubbing) 여부를 판단하고, 설정 시간 이상 러빙이 발생하지 않으면 전극을 통한 전류 출력을 차단하도록 한 피부 미용 기기 및 이의 제어 방법을 제시한다. 제시된 피부 미용 기기는 접촉 전극을 통해 피부로 교류 전류를 출력함에 따른 변압 모듈의 전류 변화에 대응하는 감지 전압을 근거로 피부 미용 기기의 상태를 판단하고, 피부 미용 기기가 고정 상태이면 전극 모듈의 전류 출력을 차단한다.
