Surgical robotics is an emerging trend in the laparoscopic surgery. It is the better mechanism to the surgeon to perform surgery effectively. It also has the post-operative benefits to the patient like immediate recovery, fewer infections, and not having much of a scar at the surgical site. We designed and developed a surgical instrument which is compact as well as simple and safe in its design, transmission and operation. The novelty behind this surgical robot instrument is, the smaller diameter namely Ultra-thin surgical robotics instrument having the main body which is about 5 mm of rigid body type, a shape memory alloy (SMA) at the surgical tip used for the better force while handling the tissue, a haptic sensor is placed to understand the force-feed back of the surgical tip during a tool-tissue interaction (TTI) and also this instrument can be further enhanced for the usage of single incision laparoscopic surgery (SILS). It is economical compared to that of the commercially available products at Rs 12000/-.
