To provide an air cleaning apparatus capable of keeping a sufficient sterilization effect even in long term use without shrinkage of a filter body composing a sterilization filter.SOLUTION: In an air cleaning apparatus 10, a sterilization filter 26 includes a filter body 58 impregnated with sterilization water AS, a front surrounding frame part 64 that surrounds the front part along the one direction of the filter body 58 and has open surfaces on both front and back sides, and a back surrounding frame part 66 that surrounds the back part along the one direction of the filter body 58 and has open surfaces on both front and back sides, in which both the surrounding frame parts are connectable to each other. The sterilization filter further includes a surrounding frame 38 containing the whole filter body 58 while allowing air to pass through the filter body 58 in one direction with both the surrounding frame parts connected to each other, and maintaining mechanisms 68, 82 that are hooked to the upper part of the filter body 58 and maintain the height dimension of the filter body by preventing the filter body 58 impregnated with sterilization water AS from shrinking in the gravity direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6【課題】 長期間使用しても、除菌フィルタを構成するフィルタ本体が収縮せずに、充分な除菌効果を発揮し続けることの出来る空気清浄化装置を提供することを目的とする。【解決手段】 この発明に係わる空気清浄化装置１０は、除菌フィルタ２６が、除菌水ＡＳが含浸されるフィルタ本体５８と、このフィルタ本体５８の、一方向に沿う前方部分の周囲を囲繞すると共に前後両面が開放された前方囲繞枠部６４、及び、フィルタ本体５８の、一方向に沿う後方部分の周囲を囲繞すると共に前後両面が開放された後方囲繞枠部６６を、互いに連結可能に備え、互いに連結した状態で、フィルタ本体５８を一方向に沿う空気の通過を許容しつつ、フィルタ本体５８を全体的に内包する囲繞枠３８と、フィルタ本体５８の上部に係合し、除菌水ＡＳが含浸されたフィルタ本体５８を重力方向に収縮させずに、その高さ寸法を維持する維持機構６８，８２とを備えることを特徴としている。【選択図】図６
