The present invention relates to a carrot plant, or part thereof the roots of which comprise an average total anthocyanin level of at least 2000 μg/g FW and optionally a medium level of haloing and zoning and to plants of a carrot variety NUN 89682 CAC and seeds and progeny thereof. The invention further relates to methods for producing a carrot plant by traditional breeding methods.
