PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antimicrobial agent in which all effects (antimicrobial-fungicidal property or the like) by silver ions in a high temperature environment are improved compared with the conventional one as shown in table 1 by the action of germanium, and similar effects can be obtained in both of a powder state and a solution state regarding a mixture therein, and which can inhibit the propagation of various germs (escherichia coli, staphylococcus aureus and the other anaerobic bacterium) in a high temperature environment where the various germs are easy to be progressed, thus whose using value as an antimicrobial-fungicidal agent for a die casting release agent, a cutting-grinding agent, a cleaning liquid or the like is increased.SOLUTION: The antimicrobial agent comprises a mixture of silver and germanium as the main component.
