Disclosed is an inhibitor of the growth of Helicobacter pylori, which comprises a culture supernatant of a plant-derived lactic acid bacterium having 16S rRNA comprising a nucleotide sequence depicted in any one of SEQ ID NO:1 to SEQ ID NO:4 or an extract from the culture supernatant. It becomes possible to provide a novel technique for inhibiting the growth of Helicobacter pylori without supplying living cells of Helicobacter pylori to the stomach.
