A catheter system includes: an ablation catheter having an irrigation mechanism; a power source configured to provide the ablation catheter with power used upon ablation; a liquid supplying section configured to provide the ablation catheter with liquid for irrigation; and a control section. The control section so controls the irrigation operation that a large flow rate operation of the liquid is achieved upon a high power state where measured power at the time of the ablation is equal to or greater than threshold power, whereas it so controls the irrigation operation that a small flow rate operation is achieved upon a low power state where the measured power is less than the threshold power. The control section promptly performs switching from the small flow rate operation to the large flow rate operation when making the transition from the low power state to the high power state.
