The access assembly (100) includes a flexible outer sleeve (110) having an upper rim (114) formed on a proximal end, a lower rim (116) formed on a distal end and defining a longitudinal opening (113) extending therebetween. The lower rim (116) may define an inflatable space that in a deflated state facilitates insertion of the lower rim through tissue and in an inflated state assists in retaining the access assembly (100) in place relative to the tissue. The access assembly (100) further includes an inflatable member (120) secured within the longitudinal opening (113) of the outer sleeve (110).
