An adjustable support apparatus (10) for a surgery table utilizing a platform (32) having first and second end portions. First and second end supports (12, 14) are used to mount the platform (32) which is adjusted by a carriage (46, 48) having a pawl operator. The carriage (46, 48) includes studs (50, 52) having support surfaces for the platform (32). A tower (42, 44) utilizing a gear rack (84, 86) interacts with the carriage pawl operator to positon the platform (32) relative to the first and second end support (12, 14) of the surgery table.
