PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent efficiently absorbing away malodor substances over an extended time period, and excellent in durability and heat resistance, and an interior scarfskin material for vehicles containing the absorbent having maintained deodorant performance even when in production environment under high temperature.
SOLUTION: The absorbent efficiently absorbing away malodor substances over an extended time period at an ordinary temperature as a matter of course but even at a high temperature can be obtained by having a primary or secondary amine compound, and an iodine atom or an iodine compound supported on a porous carrier, particularly above all things by having a compound represented by specific formula (1), and an iodide of an alkali metal or an alkali earth metal supported on a porous carrier, or by having a compound represented by specific formula (2) supported on a porous carrier.
