PURPOSE: A composition containing Buddleiae Flos extract is provided to treat leukemia with little side effects and to effectively treat promyelocyteic leukemia. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing or treating leukemia contains active ingredients isolated from Buddleiae Flos with an organic solvent. The organic solvent is 95% ethanol. The active ingredient is prepared by extracting Buddleiae Flos at 50°；C for 24 hours and drying at reduced pressure. The EC50 value of the active ingredient by an alamar blue analysis is under 55.2 ug/ml. The composition also contains pharmaceutically acceptable carriers or diluents.본 발명은 밀몽화 추출물을 포함하는 백혈병 예방 또는 치료용 조성물에 관한 것으로, 본 발명의 밀몽화 추출물은 백혈병 세포에 대한 충분한 사멸효과를 갖고 있어 백혈병에 대한 치료용 조성물로서의 가치가 있으며, 특히 천연물로부터의 추출물이기 때문에 부작용의 위험이 적고, 전골수성 백혈병의 치료에 더욱 유용할 것으로 생각된다.
