PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical base material which is elastically deformable in accordance with the form of an injury site or a hemostasis site, is compatible to a living body, is suitable for tissue regeneration, cell growth or hemostasis, and can be simply produced.
SOLUTION: The collagen base material comprises cotton composed of spun collagen long fibers, wherein the collagen base material is loaded with a compression force so that the collagen long fibers, which are imdependent of each other, are slid on each other to bend and the collagen base material can be deformed to reduce the whole volume, while the material is released from the compression force so that the collagen long fibers adhere elastically and the material can be restored to the original form.
