An electrode lead comprises a lead body, connector contacts affixed to theproximal end of the lead body, and a cuffbody affixed to the distal end of the lead body. The cuff body is pre-shapedto transition from an unfurled state to a furled state, whereinthe cuff body, when in the furled state has an inner surface for contacting anerve and an overlapping inner cuff region and an outercuff region. The electrode lead further comprise electrode contactscircumferentially disposed along the cuff body when in the furledstate, such that at least one of the electrode contacts is located on theinner surface of the cuff body, and at least another of the electrodecontacts is located between the overlapping inner and outer cuff regions. Theelectrode lead further comprises electrical conductorsextending through the lead body respectively between the connector contactsand the electrode contacts.
