PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent breakage of a component due to intrusion of foreign matter to a hedge trimmer. SOLUTION: The hedge trimmer includes: a pair of shear blades; a motor for driving the pair of shear blades; a crank mechanism which converts rotational power of the motor to reciprocating motion of the pair of shear blades; an inside housing which houses the motor and crank mechanism and to which the pair of shear blades are attached; and an outside housing which houses the inside housing and which is provided with a handle portion to be held by a user. The inside housing includes an intake opening and a discharge opening for cooling, at least one of the intake opening and the discharge opening being covered with the outside housing.
