An engagement system for a surgical sensor assembly, formed of a sensing component in a fixed position and a lead wire in an electrical communication therewith. The engagement system employs a jacket of heat shrink polymeric material to hold the sensing component to the lead wire and eliminates the employment of soldering and welding and crimping which can damage such sensing components. The system is employed in combination with catheters having a lumen for control wires for surgical instruments.La présente invention concerne un système de mise en prise pour un ensemble capteur chirurgical, composé dun composant de détection dans une position fixe et dun fil de sortie dans une communication électrique avec celui-ci. Le système de mise en prise utilise une gaine en matériau polymère thermorétractable pour attacher le composant de détection au fil de sortie et élimine lutilisation du brasage, du soudage et du sertissage qui peuvent endommager de tels composants de détection. Le système est utilisé en association avec des cathéters présentant une lumière les fils de commande dinstruments chirurgicaux.
