PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a metallic wire which is integrally joined with a hole formed on the base end surface of a suture needle for medical use, is easily bent and broken.SOLUTION: The suture needle A includes: a stop hole 5 for joint by caulking, which is formed in the base end surface 3 and to which the end part of the wire 10 is inserted and a counterbore 6 which is formed on the side of the base end surface 3 in the stop hole 5 and where at least a dimension D in the base end surface 3 is larger than the dimension d of the stop hole 5 and also the depth L is shallower than that of a caulking part with respect to the stop hole 5.
