The present invention relates to an antimicrobial composition and a method for disinfection involving the antimicrobial composition. It particularly relates to an antimicrobial composition for personal cleaning, oral care or hard surface cleaning applications. It was found that compositions comprising halogenated isopropylmethylphenols, terpineol and a carrier provide synergistic antimicrobial action. In a preferred aspect the composition also comprises 1 to 80 %-wt of one or more surfactants.La présente invention concerne une composition antimicrobienne et un procédé de désinfection mettant en oeuvre ladite composition antimicrobienne. Elle concerne en particulier une composition antimicrobienne pour des applications dhygiène personnelle, de soins buccaux ou de nettoyage de surfaces dures. Il a été découvert que les compositions comprenant du terpinéol, des isopropylméthylphénols halogénés et un support produisent un effet antimicrobien synergique. Selon un aspect préféré de linvention, la composition comprend également 1 à 80% en poids dun ou plusieurs tensioactifs.
