A device (30) effects the mitral valve annulus geometry of a heart. The devicecomprises a first anchor (32) and a proximal second anchor (36), both anchorsconfigured to be positioned within the coronary sinus adjacent the mitralvalve annulus. The second anchor, when deployed, anchors against distalmovement and is moveable proximally. The device further comprises a fixedlength connecting member (34) permanently attached to the first and secondanchors. When the both anchors are within the coronary sinus and the firstanchor is anchored, the second anchor may be displaced proximally, effectingthe mitral valve geometry, and then released, maintaining the new geometry.
