A reel leg fixing apparatus (10), comprising: a hood portion (15A) having a tubular shape and having an opening (15c) for receiving a reel leg of a fishing reel, wherein the hood portion (15A) is formed of a plurality of prepreg sheets (30,31) stacked together and is configured to be moved in an axial direction by an operation nut (18, 218, 318), and wherein the hood portion (15A) includes a higher proportion of reinforcement fibers (32A) oriented in a circumferential direction in a portion adjacent to the opening (15c) than in a portion adjacent to the operation nut (18, 218, 318). Another reel leg fixing apparatus (10) comprises a hood portion (215A) including a region (240) where reinforcement fibers (230A) are oblique to the axial direction. A further reel leg fixing apparatus (10) comprises a hood portion (315A) having an oblique end (315h) and a fiber reinforced resin material having including reinforcement fibers (350A) oriented along the oblique end (315h).
