A ready-to-use urinary catheter assembly, for intermittent urinary catheterization, comprising a catheter (1) and a package (7, 16), in which the catheter (1) is entirely housed in the package (7, 16) and can be removed from its packaging (7, 16) and is prepared for direct insertion into the urethra and in substantially sterile conditions, characterized in that the catheter (1) is a urinary catheter that has on at least a part of its surface (2) a hydrophilic surface layer and where the packaging (7, 16) defines a cavity (11) to accommodate the catheter (1), where the packaging (7, 16) is made of a gas impermeable material and the cavity houses a liquid swelling medium for the supply of a ready-to-use catheter assembly.Un conjunto de catéter urinario listo para usar, para la cateterización urinaria intermitente, que comprende un catéter (1) y un embalaje (7, 16), en el que el catéter (1) se aloja en su totalidad en el embalaje (7, 16) y se puede extraer de su embalaje (7, 16) y se encuentra preparado para una inserción directa en la uretra y en condiciones sustancialmente estériles, caracterizado porque el catéter (1) es un catéter urinario que posee sobre al menos una parte de su superficie (2) una capa superficial hidrófila y donde el embalaje (7, 16) define una cavidad (11) para alojar el catéter (1), donde el embalaje (7, 16) está hecho de un material impermeable al gas y la cavidad aloja un medio líquido de hinchado para el suministro de un conjunto de catéter listo para usar.
