The present invention provides a novel conventional tablet dosage form containing antioxidant activity of pomegranate peel extract. The main benefit associated with this conventional tablet dosage form is its patient compliance, lower level of toxicity and more efficacy. The pomegranate peel extract contain total polyphenols in concentration of 39±2.63%w/w which can be used as an antioxidant. A novel tablet dosage form has been prepared by conventional method using this antioxidant and using different pharmaceutical binders, diluents, granulating agents, lubricants, glidants, disintegrating agents etc. A tablet dosage form has been prepared by using wet granulation method. Wet granules prepared using starch paste lead to sticking problems as the pomegranate peel extract has sticky property. Therefore, a film coated tablet dosage formulation has been prepared using IP A as a solvent. The Compression of the lubricated granules was performed with compression force of 3 kg/cm2.Thereafter, coating of compressed tablets was done using Ponceu 4R & Erythrosine lake colours.
