The present invention relates to a novel composition and method to potentiate the antitumor effect of an oncolytic virus by providing for resistance against a hosts innate interferon response. Particularly, a B 18R gene is incorporated into an oncolytic virus. During treatment of a host with the modified oncolytic virus, the oncolytic virus retains its phenotype, and the hosts innate immune response has a minimal affect on viral replication.Cette invention concerne une nouvelle composition et une nouvelle méthode permettant daugmenter leffet antitumoral dun virus oncolytique chez un hôte en produisant une résistance à la réponse non spécifique de linterféron. Le gène B18R est ainsi incorporé dans un virus oncolytique. Lors du traitement de lhôte avec le virus oncolytique modifié, le virus conserve son phénotype, et la réponse immunitaire non spécifique chez lhôte a un effet minime sur la réplication virale.
