Method (M1) for wash-protecting color of artificially dyed keratin fibers, involves applying at least one drying oil or at least one composition comprising at least one drying oil in a cosmetically acceptable medium to the artificially dyed keratin fibers. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) method for dyeing keratin fibers, involves applying at least one dye composition and at least one composition comprising at least one drying oil in a cosmetically acceptable medium to the keratin fibers for sufficient time, where the dye composition comprises at least one direct dye and/or at least one oxidation base； and (2) multi-compartment kit comprising at least one first compartment comprising at least one composition comprising at least one drying oil in a cosmetically acceptable medium, at least one second compartment comprising at least one dye composition comprising at least one oxidation base and/or at least one direct dye, and optionally at least one third compartment comprising at least one oxidizing agent.
