PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ingredient for treating or ameliorating hypertrichosis, inhibiting hair restoration or growth of body hair other than hair of the head (arms, legs, underarms, faces, private parts etc.), effectively inhibiting hair restoration or growth of unwanted hair of the arms, legs, underarms, faces etc., particularly after a treatment with a depilatory or treatment with a dehairing agent or shaving treatment, readily maintaining a desired beautiful appearance, and having better inhibitory effects than those of conventional ingredients for inhibiting the hair restoration or ingredients for inhibiting the hair growth, and to provide a medicament for inhibiting the hair restoration or inhibiting the hair growth comprising the ingredient.

SOLUTION: It is found that an extract from Sorghum bicolor L. has excellent inhibitory effects on the hair restoration or inhibitory effects on the hair growth. Thereby, the better medicament than conventional medicaments for inhibiting the hair restoration or inhibiting the hair growth is obtained by using the extract from the Sorghum bicolor L. as the active ingredient.
