PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a sauce for ice cream which can form a beautiful marble-like pattern of stripes when blended with ice cream though the sauce contains a specific quantity of powder milk and has a low water activity and to provide a frozen dessert using the same.SOLUTION: The method for producing the sauce for ice cream which contains powder milk of 5-20% and whose water activity is 0.7-0.9 includes: steps for producing an oil-in-water emulsified substance containing phospholipase A-treated yolk and blending power milk in the oil-in-water emulsified substance. The method is characterized by adjustment of the viscosity of the sauce for ice cream to 8-25 Pa s.
