PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods for treatment of degenerative neurological disorders such as Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease by inhibiting activation of microglial cells overactivated in response to neuronal damage.SOLUTION: Methods for treatment of degenerative neurological disorders comprise administering, to a subject in need of such treatment, an effective amount of a Ganoderma lucidum extract.
