Embodiments of the present invention provide devices and methods for treatingvarious target sites, such as vascularabnormalities. For example, a medical device according to one embodimentincludes at least one layer of a fabric of braidedstrands having proximal and distal ends and a central axis extendingtherebetween. The medical device has an expanded configurationa generally frastroconical shaped portion at each end. The medical device isconfigured to be constrained to a reduced configurationfor delivery through a diagnostic catheter and to at least partially return,when unconstrained, towards the expandedconfiguration.
