A method (300) for modeling the lens (104) of the eye (100), the method comprising the steps of: - measuring (302) the front shape of the cornea (102) of the eye; - determining (304) direct optical measurements of at least , one parameter of the cornea (102) of the eye (100) and at least one parameter of the lens (104) of the eye (100); - determine (306) the refractive index of the cornea (102); - correct (308) the optical measurements so that they take into account the effect of the refractive index of the cornea (102) in direct optical measurements; - measure (310) the aberration of the eye (100); - calculate (312) HALE refractive lens (104) by combining the corrected measurement and aberration; and - additionally correct (314) the optical measurements of the lens (104) so that they take into account the effect of the refractive index of the lens (104) in direct optical measurements. 2. The method of claim 1, wherein direct optical measurements are performed using topography or interferometry. The method according to claim 2, in which at least one parameter of the cornea of the eye contains at least one of the thickness of the cornea, the posterior shape of the cornea and the distance from the back of the cornea to the front of the lens, and in which at least one parameter of the lens of the eye contains at least one of the anterior form of the lens, the posterior lens, the thickness of the lens and the distance from the back of the lens to the retina. 4. A method according to any one of claims 1 to 3, in which the refractive index of the cornea is determined using a refractometer.
