PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a matrix metalloproteinase (MMPs) activity inhibitor and an antimicrobial peptide production promotor both using, as an active ingredient, a natural product extract having excellent matrix metalloproteinase activity inhibitory activity and antimicrobial peptide production promoting activity and to provide, in particular, an MMP-1 activity inhibitor and hDB-1 production promotor.SOLUTION: Each of an MMPs activity inhibitor and an antimicrobial peptide production promotor includes a plant extract obtained from Melia azadirachta as an active ingredient.
