PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for efficient delivery of light to a target site in a human body.SOLUTION: The apparatus includes a light source and at least one stent having a lumen defined longitudinally therethrough. The light source is disposed longitudinally within the lumen of the stent and/or on a surface of the stent. The invention also relates to a method for efficient delivery of phototherapy to the brain in the human body. A hole is drilled in the skull without penetrating dura mater in the brain. Each drilled hole is fitted with a transparent light conductor so that each light conductor fully penetrates the skull. Light emitted from a light source disposed on a first side exteriorly of the skull is transmitted through to an opposite side interiorly of the skull to a target site within the brain via the transparent light conductor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A【課題】 人体内の標的部位に光を効率的に送達させるための装置を提供する。【解決手段】 この装置は、光源と、長手方向に内部を貫通して画定された管腔を有する少なくとも１つのステントと、を備える。光源は、ステントの管腔内及び／又はステントの表面上に長手方向に配置される。また、人体内の脳に光線療法を効率的に送達させるための方法である。脳の硬膜を貫通することなく頭蓋骨にドリルで穴が穿孔される。ドリルで穿孔した穴のそれぞれに、各導光体が頭蓋骨を完全に貫通するように透明な導光体が嵌め込まれる。頭蓋骨の外部の第１の側に配置された光源から放射された光は、頭蓋骨の内部の反対の側へと透明な導光体を介して脳内の標的部位まで透過される。【選択図】 図１Ａ
