PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide basket type grasping forceps capable of easily removing a foreign object held in a basket.SOLUTION: The basket type grasping forceps includes a sheath 2, a basket part 4, a center wire 18, an operation wire, and an operation part. The basket part 4 includes a distal fixing member 7 fixed to the respective distal ends of a plurality of basket wires 5, and a tip member 12 fixed to the distal end of the center wire 18 and the distal fixing member 7. The distal fixing member 7 includes: a first member 8 to which at least one of the distal ends of the plurality of basket wires 5 is fixed, and that is connected to the tip member 12 and a second member 11 to which a distal end of a basket wire 5b of the plurality of basket wires 5, different from the basket wire 5 fixed to the first member 8, is fixed.
