Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft die Identifizierung und Verwendung der NeogeninRezeptor-bindenden Domäne von Mitgliedern der Repulsive Guidance Molecule (RGM) Proteinfamilie sowie davon abgeleitete Polypeptidfragmente. Die erfindungsgemäßen Domänen beziehungsweise Peptidfragmente eignen sich als Mittel zur aktiven oder passiven Immunisierung von Individuen sowie als diagnostische und therapeutische Mittel zur Verwendung bei Krankheiten oder Krankheitszuständen, an deren Entstehung oder Verlauf ein Mitglied der RGM-Familie und ein diesem Molekül zugeordneter zellulärer Rezeptor beteiligt ist. Die Erfindung betrifft außerdem monoklonale und polyklonale Antikörper gegen die erfindungsgemäßen Bindungsdomänen und gegen die davon abgeleiteten Polypeptide sowie Verfahren zur Herstellung der erfindungsgemäßen Domänen, Polypeptide und Antikörper.The invention concerns the identification and use of neogenin receptor-binding domains of members of the repulsive guidance molecule (RGM) protein family as well as polypeptide fragments derived therefrom.
