A plastic inner sleeve 22 for use as a sterile liner for the inside of a rectangular transportation tray (1, fig 1) having a bottom (3, fig 1) and upright sides (9, fig 1), comprises a rectangular basic shape 24 including sides 30 provided with outwardly extending lateral flaps 32, and corner portions 26 which have eyelets 28 for attaching to corresponding hooks (11, fig 1) of the transportation tray. In use, the lateral flaps 32 may hang over the outer sides of the tray. Each corner portion 26 with an eyelet 28 has a tongue part 34 extending outwardly from the eyelet 28. In use, the tongue part 28 folds back over to cover the corresponding hook (fig 3). Preferably the hooks (11, fig 1) are formed by two indentations (17, fig 1) in a top edge of the tray at either side of each corner (9, fig 1). Preferably, an outer sleeve (40, fig 4) with an at least partially elasticated peripheral edge (42, fig 4) covers the tray and displays a printed indication (46, fig 4) that the tray is sterile. The tray may be used to carry endoscopic equipment.
