An exemplary auditory prosthesis system includes an audio accessory configured to be external to a patient and that includes 1) a plurality of microphones that receive incoming audio and convert the incoming audio into a plurality of audio signals, 2) a first communication port that connects directly to a communication port of a body-worn sound processor apparatus by way of a first cable, 3) a second communication port that connects directly to a communication port of a headpiece by way of a second cable, and 4) a control module communicatively coupled to the plurality of microphones and the first and second communication ports and that generates a processed audio signal by processing the plurality of audio signals converted by the plurality of microphones from the incoming audio and provides the processed audio signal to the body-worn sound processor apparatus.Un système de prothèse auditive donné à titre d'exemple comporte un accessoire audio configuré pour être externe à un patient et qui comporte : 1) une pluralité de microphones qui reçoivent un son audio arrivant et convertissent le son audio arrivant en une pluralité de signaux audio； 2) un premier port de communication qui se connecte directement à un port de communication d'un appareil de traitement sonore porté sur le corps au moyen d'un premier câble； 3) un second port de communication qui se connecte directement à un port de communication d'une pièce de tête au moyen d'un second câble； et 4) un module de commande qui est couplé de manière communicative à la pluralité de microphones et aux premier et second ports de communication et qui génère un signal audio traité par un traitement de la pluralité des signaux audio convertis par la pluralité des microphones du son audio arrivant et fournit le signal audio traité à l'appareil de traitement sonore porté sur le corps.
