There is provided a liquid delivery adapter which can be inserted and operated between an injector and a vial. In embodiments, the liquid delivery adapter has an injector and an injector connection portion configured to fluidly couple to the vial connection. The vial connection portion includes a spike having a tip portion configured to pierce the septum of the vial and the spike axis. The tip portion includes a plurality of asu that meet each other at one or more sides, and at least one of the sides is inclined with respect to the spike axis. The spike extends through the spike and forms a channel for fluid exchange with the injector connection.
