inter aliaThe present invention relates to medicine and more particularly to pharmacology and psychiatry and can be used in the manufacture of drugs for treating treatment resistant forms of schizophrenia. To this end it is proposed to use the compounds 11 (4 methylpiperazine 1 yl) 7 fluoro 8 chloro 5 dibenzo[b ][1 4] diazepine and 11 (piperazine 1 yl) 7 fluoro 8 chloro 5 dibenzo[b ][1 4] diazepine and pharmaceutically acceptable salts solvates or hydrates thereof. The invention provides for the creation of an effective drug which when used to treat treatment resistant forms of schizophrenia makes it possible to eliminate both positive and negative symptoms of schizophrenia as well as cognitive impairment and which does not cause serious side effects in patients which limit the use of the drug such as sedation tachycardia orthostatism agranulocytosis and sialorrhea.
