<；P>；PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode catheter capable of evenly, accurately and stably cauterizing a target biological tissue in a wide range. <；P>；SOLUTION: The electrode catheter for cauterization comprises a first electrode 11 attached to the distal end of a catheter tube 6, and a second electrode 13 disposed apart from the first electrode 11 by a prescribed distance along the longitudinal direction of the catheter tube 6. Voltage different than the voltage to the first electrode 11 is applied to the second electrode 13. Sparse electrodes 15 with a smaller area of contact with the biological tissue than the first or second electrode 11 or 13 are electrically connected to the first electrode 11 or the second electrode 13, and formed on the outer periphery of the distal end of the catheter between the first and second electrodes 11 and 13. <；P>；COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
