Each side absorbent member has a raising elastic member which is provided near its outboard edge along the longitudinal direction, so that the side absorbent member (42) rises while worn. The diaper is configured to exert a higher wearing pressure in its regions (91) that are to be applied to a wearers body part between the iliac crests and the anterior superior iliac spines than in its waist opening portion while worn.
