PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antithrombogenic material where adhesion of platelets and activation of blood coagulation factors are both reduced.
SOLUTION: The antithrombogenic material is made of a carbon film formed on the surface of a base material. The antithrombogenic material comprises a film body formed of carbons mutually combined, and nitrogen functional group and carboxyl group introduced into the film body. The zeta potential on the surface of the film body is at least -8 mV.
