A sunscreen composition having improved water resistance comprising (i) a sunscreen active agent； (ii) a water resistant agent comprising a natural wax having a Damping Factor of less than 1.0 in a linear viscoelastic range at body temperature； and (iii) an emulsifier or a surfactant capable of stabilizing an emulsion of components (i) to (iii), wherein said sunscreen composition maintains at least 75%, preferably at least 85%, and most preferably at least 99%, of its static SPF after water immersion for 4 hours.L'invention concerne une composition de protection solaire présentant une résistance à l'eau améliorée et comprenant : (i) un agent actif de protection solaire ； (ii) un agent résistant à l'eau comprenant une cire naturelle présentant un facteur d'amortissement inférieur à 1,0 dans une plage viscoélastique linéaire à la température du corps ； et (iii) un émulsifiant ou un tensioactif capable de stabiliser une émulsion des composants (i) à (iii), ladite composition de protection solaire conservant au moins 75 %, de préférence au moins 85 % et, idéalement, au moins 99 % de son indice de protection statique après immersion dans l'eau pendant 4 heures.
