PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article wherein side leakage is prevented, an absorption layer is not easily flatten or twisted in use and the dry feeling of a skin abutting surface is improved.
SOLUTION: The vertically long absorbent article 1 has the absorption layer 2 having water-absorbing parts 21 and water repellent parts 22. The water absorbing parts 21 and the water repellent parts 22 are alternately disposed in a direction S orthogonal to the longitudinal direction L of the absorbent article 1, and at least the outermost edge parts 2a and 2a along the longitudinal direction L of the absorbing layer 2 are the water repellent part 22. In details, the absorption layer has the plurality of water absorption parts 21 and water repellent parts 22, and each of the plurality of water absorption parts 21 and water repellent parts 22 are linearly formed along the longitudinal direction L of the absorbent article 1.
