PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate an image capable of determining a lesion and a bleeding area in a fluorescence endoscope system.
SOLUTION: A pre-stage signal processing circuit 41 alternately receives a reference light image signal and a fluorescence image signal. A matrix circuit 45 dissolves the image signal into an R-signal component, a G-signal component, and a B-signal component. The RGB signal components are stored in a DRAM 43. The RGB signal components obtained by dissolving the reference light image signal are transmitted to a ratio calculating circuit 46. The ratio calculating circuit 46 calculates G/R, B/R, based on the RGB signal components. A determining circuit 47 determines whether or not the G/R, B/R are included in a bleeding determination area. A pseudo color image operational circuit 48 generates a pseudo color image in a bleeding estimation area, based on the determination by the determining circuit 47. Besides, the pseudo color image operational circuit 48 generates the reference light image in a non-bleeding area.
