Methods for treating or preventing ocular disease or infection in a subject in need thereof are also provided. The method may include administering to an eye of a subject an ophthalmic composition including chlorhexidine, derivatives, or analogues of chlorhexidine, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, solvent, hydrate, or polymorph thereof, and an anti-inflammatory agent.
