In one implementation, a method is provided that includes identifying and analyzing an insect species that are attracted by light in a particular region identifying and analyzing one or more particular wavelengths of electromagnetic spectrum that attracts insect species in the particular region and emitting the light containing all the wavelengths subtracted the one or more particular wavelengths that attracts the insect species by utilizing at least one or more wavelength interference filter. The present invention provides an innovative light source which is designed in a manner to reduce or eliminate insect attraction.
